Boggle word finder — common questions

Is my word valid in Boggle?

Type any word into the search box above. Boggledygook checks it against three official Boggle word lists — TWL06, SOWPODS, and ENABLE1 — and instantly tells you whether it's playable and how many points it's worth.

Which dictionary does Boggle use?

Boggle has no single official dictionary. Play commonly uses TWL06 (the North American tournament list), SOWPODS / Collins (the international list), and ENABLE1 (a public-domain word list). A word can be valid in one and not another, so we check all three.

How are Boggle words scored?

Scoring is by length: 3–4 letters are worth 1 point, 5 letters 2, 6 letters 3, 7 letters 5, and 8 or more 11. Super Big Boggle instead pays 2 points per letter for words of 9 letters or more. Classic Boggle counts 3-letter words; Big and Super Big require at least 4.

What counts as a word in Boggle?

Any dictionary word of at least three letters that you can trace through touching cells — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — without reusing a cell. Proper nouns and abbreviations don't count.
